State Rep. Mike Alberts visited with dozens of Brooklyn Middle School students and their parents at the Connecticut Invention Convention at the state Capitol in Hartford.

Rep. Alberts said he was impressed with the work and dedication of the students.

“I would like to congratulate all those who contributed to the Invention Convention. The inventions were absolutely incredible, and these students did their school and their town proud,” said Rep. Alberts. “After viewing the invention exhibits and meeting so many bright, intelligent students, I feel strongly that our district and our state will be in good hands in the future.”

The Connecticut Invention Convention is in its 26th year, having been started in 1983 as part of the Connecticut Educators Network for the talented and gifted.

Later, Mike Alberts welcomed students from Woodstock Academy, answered questions about the legislative process and showed them around the State Capitol. Alberts often meets with local student groups when they are touring the Capitol in Hartford.
